Second Phase of Railway Crossing Closure will Be Applied

Second phase of railway crossing closure in five locations will be applied. This policy has been decided with Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) and PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

In accordance with the result of last meeting with Ditjen KAI, closure of railway crossing will be continued for the second phase

"In accordance with the result of last meeting with Ditjen KAI, closure of railway crossing will be continued to the second phase," said Sigit Wijatmoko, Deputy Head of Jakarta Dishub, Wednesday (7/12).

He mentioned the five locations of railway crossing that will be closed down are on Jl. Bandengan Utara, Bandengan Selatan, Hasyim Ashari, Angkasa, and Karet Bivak.

"It is still tentative about when the policy will take time," he said.

Even though, his side is still preparing to close the railway crossings. Such as preparing traffic light engineering, traffic signs, and installing socialization banner.

"This must be prepared well. Because this is related to the safety of citizen who usually crossing the railway, but suddenly they can not," he affirmed.

For information, Jakarta Provincial Government has conducted closure trial of the railway crossing on TB Simatupang, Pondok Kopi-Penggilingan, Pejompongan 1, Jl. Pasar Minggu, and Jl. Letjen Suprapto-Senen.
